Echo Mountain

Echo Mountain

I’ve heard about a lot of hikes in the Fairwood area of Renton but I haven’t actually done any of them until now. One of the most amazing things to me about the PNW is the ability to almost hike from your own backyard. From downtown Seattle you can arrive at some of the most incredibly beautiful places in 30 minutes or less. It never gets old.

This hike was perfect for my 4 year old at around 2 miles and 300′ elevation. I think his hiking endurance is getting longer as he was still bouncing around at the end of this hike.  It could also be due to better nutrition and hydration for him, something I should post about soon. If you want to make your adventure longer you can visit the lake area down the gravel access area by the trail head. Be sure to have your Discover Pass if you park in this area. Otherwise there is room for 3-4 cars by the trail head.

The hike starts from the Spring Lake/Lake Desire Trailhead.
